Practice Nurse. Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.

GP Partner & Lead Clinician of the Practice. With over 10 years post-graduation clinical experience in General medicine, he is committed to provide high quality patient care to Middleton and surrounding population. He joined practice in Dec 2014.He has special interest in Diabetes, Cardiology, Elderly care and Advance care plans. Working through recent transition in NHS, Dr Shahid is quite vocal about extending medical services in community, making easier access to patients.He is an accredited undergraduate tutor of medical students and trainer of Foundation year doctors in North West Deanery. He is also an OSCE Examiner at Manchester University
GP partner. Dr Khan joined the practice in 2015, becoming a GP partner on the 1st April 2016. He has special interests in minor surgery, joint injection and the teaching of medical students.
Additional healthcare staff
A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.
The district nursing team is responsible for providing the following services: Dressings, Wound checks, Removal of Stitches, Leg Ulcers. You don’t have to see GP for these services. Please find further information in the Clinic page.
Practice Manager. He is responsible to make sure that right systems are in place to provide a high quality patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The practice manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals in delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.
Assistant Practice Manager - Compliance & Administration. Jack is responsible for smooth running of back office, case referrals and administrative support to all clinical staff members.
Assistant Practice Manager. Helps the Practice in looking after routine management related affairs.
Prescriptions Co-Ordinator. Responsible for prescription authorisation and prescriptions related queries.
Diane, Lucy , Katie, Kansuda and Ibza are the Practice Receptionists. They provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.
